RESTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Softeon, an innovative provider of supply chain software with the industry’s best record for customer success, is pleased to announce the availability of its latest generation of industry templates and configuration tools for deploying its Warehouse Management System.
“We believe the Softeon approach is a major breakthrough in the WMS market, and can really be looked at as a game changer”
Developed in close collaboration with some of the industry’s leading third-party logistics companies, these tools include configuration templates for leading vertical sectors and process types including consumer packaged goods, electronics, food, beverage, retail, industrial distribution and more.
But Softeon goes far beyond just pre-configured industry templates. The Softeon Configuration Wizard brings powerful capabilities to assist non-IT users through the WMS set-up process, similarly to the way an income tax program guides someone through the process of filing a tax return. The wizard essentially takes the complex nature of the process behind-the-scenes and provides a more user-friendly and simple front-end, equating to a very efficient implementation with no time lost on training.
At each stage, a user can also leave the Wizard and drill-down into the specific configuration options for receiving, putaway, cycle counting, order picking, replenishment, and more.
This brings a whole new level of self-sufficiency to WMS users, and streamlines the deployment process in a way simply not available from other WMS providers.
While valuable for a single site WMS deployment, the Configuration Wizard really drives value in several scenarios:
- Making it easy for 3PLs to on-board new clients in less time.
- Multi-DC rollouts of the Softeon WMS, where the Wizard eases deployment efforts and puts more power into the hands of Softeon customers to handle much of the set-up effort using the baseline facility, but with the flexibility to easily configure site-specific needs and processes using the tool.
- Consulting firms and systems integrators that can be trained to use the templates and Wizard to support Softeon WMS implementations.
Softeon has been recognized by the analysts at Gartner in its May 2018 Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems *.
“We believe the Softeon approach is a major breakthrough in the WMS market, and can really be looked at as a game changer,” says Dan Gilmore, Chief Marketing Officer at Softeon. “No one else in the WMS market has developed tools like these, with such power and ease-of-use. These tools are made possible by the advanced SOA-based architecture underlying our entire solution platform.”
The templates and Wizards are available today and have already proven themselves in the field.
